Line Training within BAVirtual is an opportunity for pilots to obtain feedback, advice and improve their skills from a designated Line Training Captain. Line Training is usually conducted on normal route sectors preferably using shared cockpit technology, though screen-sharing may be used in some circumstances.
Line Training is a voluntary programme which may be requested by any pilot. It is intended as a mechanism to support, enthuse and encourage pilots to improve their abilities and knowledge in operating in accordance with BAV Standard Operating Procedures for the aircraft type.
The objectives of Line Training are:
- Improve knowledge of BAV Standard Operating Procedures for the aircraft type
- Build confidence and familiarity with normal operation
- Develop and improve Pilot Competencies and non-technical skills
Before you start session 1 we ask that each student has the following:
- A Copy of the BAV A320 Checklist
- Have read through the FCOM (Particularly the EXPANDED NORMAL OPERATIONS section)
- Familiarise yourself with the A320 Standard Cockpit flows (Link inside Moodle A320Line Training Section for youtube videos on this)
Having these things as background work, assists the team in being able to deliver more sessions, A good knowledge base is essential before starting your Virtual Line Training career with us at BAV.
